Today is a sort of sad day. Leon, my roommate and good friend here in ABQ, just moved out of our house at the corner of Cardenas and Copper. He's been here since November, and decided to move out a month before our scheduled eviction day may 31. I'm staying around to finish up finals, and such. The new tenets have started moving things in, and it's also depressing. I walked into the house tonight and saw a bunch of furniture and shiz around. It was inevitable, but I still wasn’t ready for it.

On the bright side I got a warped tour job. I’m working for Kevin promoting some movie called Endless Bummer, and manning Joan Jett’s record label tent. Should be good. I’m kind of bummed that I won’t be able to do my side stuff and work for Scott in Canada. Whatever: I’m lucky. I’m asked often about getting jobs on it, and I seem to always get decent employment every year.

I have one week of school left, which is fucking relieving. I’m so pissed off with this semester on a bunch of different levels, but I have next semester to look forward to because I’ll actually start animating and such. All summer I’m going to work on web stuff and get better at it.

Nothing else to report. Spirits are high, but not soaring. Hugs.
She’s got a new disguise

Blogging has taken a major back-burner these past few months. It's actually depressing because i use to be a blog-a-holic on LJ.

PLAY CATCH UP: I've been in Albuquerque for some time now, and it's had its ups and downs. School is decent. It's soooooo expensive, but the quilty of work and education is top notch. I had a break in at my casa--i don't want to talk about it, but i'll have you know that we are getting bars on the windows. I'm still single, which according to Disney sucks. Speaking of Diseny i've ordered two books about Michael Esiner, and all the negative shits that went down in the Disney camp over the past 10 or so years. On top of that I've been reading loads of serial killer books. I read mostly at work. I just got a job at RELAY NEW MEXICO where I act as a middleman between the deaf and .... people who are not deaf or ..... it gets complicated so i'll leave it at that. The job is amazing. I sit, and assist the deaf. As you can imagine it's interesting.

Let's talk about Warped Tour. It's a question some are already asking me, and, no, i'm not going on warped tour with Fueled By Ramen. FBR and I talked about the tour a month ago. They weighed their options, and deiceded to do a a Versa Emerge/FBR tent, and have their merch guy do it. This makes sense for FBR because this year is not a typical WT year. It's more punk and screamo than it is poppy bands as well as less stages. The investment didn't weigh up to forseen return. This is no problem for me; however, it will be weird not doing the tour for them after doing it for four years--each year they've been on it with their own tent.

I will be on VWT 09 one way or another. It's just a matter of time before I figure out who i'm going with.

I'm in the midst of finishing up my second successful semster at animation school. My semester actually ends on the 8th, and to be honest it can't come any sooner. I'm going to be there for two or three more semesters. Probably no longer than that because it's just too expensive to keep going, and waiting for the classes that arn't going to teach me FLASH.

I've been watching tons of LOST, DEXTER, X FILES, EXO SQUAD, HE-MAN, and SLACKER CATS.

Who plays StarCraft?

PS I want to marry Irene Montero.

We are Winnipeg for a much needed day off. Chad, who is now known as Black Chad, is playing Stone Temple Pilots. He's in awe that I'm not into them except for that song "Sour Girl."

The past two weeks were filled with ups and downs.

Three of my Wii controllers went missing a few weeks ago. It was a disappointment. I manned up and bought new ones, which are more pimp than mine. I should play detective and see if Against Me, ETID, or any other regulars to our bus have a Wii.

I've been hanging on the Music Saves Lives/Jack In The Box bus with Jesse Adam. It's been really fun. We play cards and Wii, which is now possible since The Lordz jumped off the tour. They are shitty dudes.

MC Chris is on the tour. I don't know much about him except he's worked in animation for years up until his music career took off. I talked him about it, and it was really awesome. He spelled out the obvious for me. I need to ask more questions though.

The Bronx asked if I wanted to do merch for them. I'm down. They don't need anyone till the first of the year, which would be after a tour with ETID in North America. I want to go to Europe and Australia with them.. and then most likely do warped tour next year with someone--hopefully FBR again.

My mindset about tour right now is indifferent--I could keep touring, but I'm not going to say it would not be cool to go home. I really want to have time to design and work on my cartoon Yo, Cocklip.

We are thinking about seeing Trapped Under Ice, Terror, Warriors, CDC, Death Before Dishonor tonight. I need shoes if so.

It's been known to me that warped tour consists of chapters--small divides in storyline and emotional experience. It feels like a large chapter has concluded now that we are back from Canada.

In Canada, Chad and I had nothing to do except promo, which didn't come till later during the Toronto show. The show this year was a lot smaller. Usually, Toronto and Montreal are some of our biggest shows, but this year it just wasn't as good.

Since we had nothing to do on those days we helped out our friend Scott who sells miscellaneous items at an inflated cost. He is the man. I had a few items shipped to me as well, and I sold some stuff. I came out with less money than I made last year in Canada, but still a sizable amount.

My friend Justin, who runs the clothing company WE KILL YOU, paid a sponsor fee to sell merch on the Canada dates. Since he doesn't have a tent I let him use ours and, oh man, what a good time. He brought some mutual friends of ours to help him do his thing. One I use to date, which was cool--she's the only girl I've dated that I'm still friends with.

Getting him squared away was kind of stressing. I let all the right personnel know he was coming and to expect him; however, with everyone being busy, there was forgetfulness. But all was squared away and out of it I'm getting some custom WE KILL YOU toys made for me, which I paid for. METAL TOYS!

Montreal is always a magical date. The tour stops on Isle Jean Drapeau (sp?), which is a small island park next to the island where the actual city resides. The view is spectacular. Whenever I'm there I expect a visit from my friend Rose who is one of the most amazing girls I've ever met. She has this way of getting what she wants, and I dig it. All I do is hook her up with a pass of some kind and she goes off. In return, she helps me with FBR, and brings breakfast.

Not to push the rewind button, but lets talk about Cleveland. I was looking forward and dreading this date since the beginning of tour. Excited for friends, and not excited to see my Ex, which in the back of my head, I knew was coming. The day started out well enough with teamers, mediocre sales, and the expectation of a Mustache Party at the Garage. Arthur and Jared (my best friends) made it out early and it was so amazing seeing them. I miss my best friends a lot. They are the best people I know and I'm glad they are on my side and willing to take the heat of the tour to hang.

During the day I had a performance. I put like 30 card board boxes on the ground, flat, similar to a break dance floor and rocked it with my dance moves, honey, bananas, and other disgusting shit. It was amazing. There are videos on youtube. You'll dig it.

Not to my surprise, Maya came to the tent and talked. It was painful as fuck. It wasn't awesome to see her at all. I'm sure in her mind we are friends that can exchange stories about life; however, in my eyes, we are not. We were something that wasn't finished. Honestly, I get into such a rage over it that I keep it out of my mind as much as possible. I kept things vague, didn't let her in the tent, and gave her a reluctant hug. In return, she gave me Israeli soup. I'm going to use it to wash her from my memory even more so than I have.

My best friend, Jason, came to the Garage that night for the mustache party. We hung and talked about everything that was on his mind. He misses me a lot. Actually, he misses having friends around. All of us, meaning his friends, have moved away from him. This is rough, and a fact about growing up. I wish I could be there for him. We talked about a lot of things of interest. Most importantly his upcoming wedding, which I'm extremely excited for, and my life changes.

Since tour has started I've contemplated not going to animation school and continueing to tour. I'm good at what I do, I can boldly say that I'm the best, but no one can determine that. This job makes me happy, I'm paid well, and there is always money in touring. What kept me back before was school and potentially my exgf, which at one point I didn't want to leave to wait for me to come back. Without both, I should grab the road and go. Yeah? Or No? I think I'd get burned out on it; however, warped last year and this year have been great, which means I'm indifferent about it ending.

Hangs with the Bronx have been getting better and better. I was scared coming into this that I would end up not liking or even hating them as people. It's turned out the opposite--they are the coolest guys ever. I mean ever. I don't mean to nerd out, but it's like a dream hanging out with one of the nicest, most rocking bands ever.

How the Tide has Turned

A lot has happened. Let's just talk about the last few days to start.

Tonight in Tampa I had the privledge of swimming in the pool near the venue. It's a really wonderful place, the venue I mean. It's in St. Petersburg and it's on the water. Next to it, is a pool and waterslides. I saw people playing in there after the show and I ran around the building and found out it was a private party that Angels and Airwaves had booked. I know their merch guys and I asked if it was a closed party. They said yes, but not for me. I dived off the diving board and slide down the slides many times. It was awesome. Tom Delong (sp?) was playing with his kid or kids and was looking really daddyish. It was awesome. Thanks, Tom.

During the day at the Tampa venue the FBR staff came out to hang out. I love them a lot. They are all nice kids. One in particular is Caleb. He's popular I guess. He's also super fun. I wish I lived in this area so we could party. In fact, I wish I could live near all my friends so I could party all the time.

It has been my dream to have my own stage on the tour. I mean, everyone wants the glory of having something that's their own, but when it comes to me you can shove that glory up your ass. I want my own stage so the party doesn't stop. Let me break it down for you: My stage would be killer as f*ck. It would have only really fun bands and I would have like a 400 person pillow fight. Amazing right? So here's what I did as a joke: I made 100 one page flyers that said I needed volunteers for the METAL PARTY STAGE. Like a sound guy, merchies, and other tech people. I attached it below.

To my surprise, a few people were really into it, and actually wanted to volunteer. Now, don't get me wrong, I do have connections. I like to consider myself hooked-up (whatever that means); however, how the fuck could I get GWAR? They are expensive and you can't have just any stage for them. It has to be special. They need power and water hoses. What I'm trying to say is that if you saw my flyer, and believed it was happening you're an idiot. On the other hand, thank you for believing in me.

As the day went on in Orlando, production called me. They wanted to talk about this stage. I saw scared about it. When I got there I explained that it's a joke and they were like, "okay, cool." Some thought it was funny, others did not. Hopefully Kevin will steal my party stage idea and bring it to life.

The fourth of July was legendary. We had the day off in Austin, TX, where the Bronx had a joint show at Emo's with the Pink Spiders, and ANDREW W.K! Long story short, the Bronx were amazing with both their punk, and mariachi sets. For ANDREW, I whipped out the mankini and wrestler mask again. He was like, "Hey, you're from new york!" I was like, "Andrew, you are my favorite singer!" It was too amazing. I lost it. The next day's show was shitty, but good. Texas is the man.

There's a member of Against Me who gives me funny looks. I'm not sure which one he is. He's not the drummer or the bass player. He is a smaller, heavy set guy with a small beard. He seems nice, and his band is really awesome. You see, working for Fueled By Ramen means you hang out with a lot of kids, which can be frowned upon when you're on a tour with bands that are punk-as-fuck. I mean, AM is not that punk-as-fuck, but they come from that old school crew of punks that think what I do is not punk, when being punk means not giving a shit and doing what you want, which is what I do. Whatever: So he sees me wearing like nothing with young kids around, and he gives me these looks as if I was Michael Jackson or someone who's a sexual predator. In Orlando I was promoting outside my tent and he walked by. I didn't mean to try to promote/yell at him--I thought he was a patron, but I did and he just shook his head negatively. It is a bum out a little, but you cannot please them all. In the words of Bob Wiley, "people are like phone booths, sometimes they are just out of order. All you can do is keep trying."

We had a day off in New Orleans. I have not been there since 2003 when I won 60 dollars in nickels with Ryan's (Ernie Ball) money. You could see water damage and such. It was kind of startling. Whatever: We woke up to find a Mexican taco truck right outside the bus. My Torta was amazing. I finally had Mexican Coca-Cola in a bottle--it's sweeter than any kiss I've ever had with a woman. We showered and rolled into NOLA. We took a cab from where we were to where we thought a Bank Of America was. Apparently, BOA never moved back into their location after Katrina. We were then poised with staying in one of the shaddiest cities in the world with a backpack filled with $10,000. Scary, right? We decided to go after walking and eating instead of going to the Norma Jean show at the HOB there. We hung out by the bus, and watched the Bronx get really shit faced. On this night, the Bronx really accepted us in their home and in their lives. They seem to understand us as people and how we do our thing during the day. It's hard being a band that's not use to pushing themselves at kids and asking for a handout, and in all respects they still don't do that. They don't tell kids to jump or do things while they are playing, and they don't beg kids to buy their CDs like all the bands out here. They have a level of respect in themselves, which I appreciate; however, this tour, to most bands, is about hustling and making dough. It's a matter of numbers. If you don't sell a grand a day in merch, and you have a bus, you're not breaking even. They call us the "queens" I guess because Chad and I come off as gay dudes to make money. At first they thought it was weird, and they probably still do, but they see how it works. We entertain people and they dig it. Whatever: I love that band too much.

The day off in Alabama kind of sucked. There was nothing to do and I ate two times at Taco Bell. Since then my shit has been pretty liquidy.

On our day off in New Mexico I bought Mario Kart for Wii and three wheels for it. We've unlocked just about every course, car, and character. I've been trying to get more people on the bus to play it with me. That's going okay. I just want to play games all the time and hang out. The Bronx played a bit, but video games are not their thing.

I wanted to grind on Jeffery Star at the Warped After Party in Denver. It would have been a riot.

Paramore were fantastic when they were here on the tour. Aaron their merch guy is a sweetheart I hope to talk to him soon.

Tour is almost half over and that's not cool.

It's hard to put into words the embarrassment stemming from someone catching you whackin-off in a bunk. I remember when I was younger Metal Mom opened the door to my room, which did not lock at the time, and saw a full-frontal wank session. Jorma, drummer in the Bronx, opened the curtain closing off my bunk to the bus. What he saw was bigger than average, and well I don't need to get any further into it. If you see Jorma at Warped Tour please tell him he should think before opening a closed bunk curtain.

Other than the embarrassing moment, which is probably known by all their close friends on the tour (Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, Against Me), things have been great.

My shitting situation has not improved. I'm constipated and bloated with a chain of dirty eats still inside my body. The last time I took a poo was on one of the days off prior, so a minimum of two days. In your prayers please include me. I feel as if I'm a shit tank.

The nasty cut on my foot has healed. It didn't heal well, but I'm sure the dirt and shit in the cut will grow out of me or something. That's what Metal Mom says.

DAYS OFF->
After Ventura, we had two days off--one in San Diego and the other in Phoenix. The San Diego day consisted of a few things: Putt-putt golf (where I won 20 dollars I'm the man at Putt-putt), Margaritas, Wii, and watching the Chariot DVD from 2005. My crew and I didn't go to the bowling thing. This I regret. Whatever: there will be tons of cool parties to come.

Before the days off I worked it out that Chad and I ride a different bus than the one we are on. The Bronx were spending days in Vegas and I wanted to hang with everyone on tour as well as friends in the Phoenix area. The day off in Phoenix was unreal. The resort we were at had a lazy river, pools, and a lazy-river side bar! Totally awesome. My friend Irene came out to hang, which was cool. She is one of the guys and then some. Actually, I hope we get married.

PHOENIX SHOW DAY->
If you've ever seen Pee Wee's Play House you know about his word of the day. Chad and I do something similar. If you say the word "hot" we go, "AHHHHHHH THAT'S THE SECRET WORD." We do this because, honestly, it's always fucking HOT! On this date it's important to not do too much, and to drink a lot of fluids because you can die and stuff. I thought the heat was not as bad as last year though some argued against it. A highlight from this day was watching Travie from GCH come on stage during ETID and screaming a bunch.

LAS CRUCES->
I just moved to New Mexico so the main thing on my mind was making friends who live in Albuquerque because I have none. It was easy to talk to people cause everyone there, minus those who don't speak English, were very nice. Today was also the day that The Bronx debuted their Mariachi band at the myspace tent. Check my videos it's life altering. After the show there was a party. and Kevin Lynman was so wasted while working the BBQ. I hung out, and drank out of the Bus 12 fish bowl. I met a group of people that night who go to the college in Las Cruses. They seemed nice and they were girls. I gave them my number. Hopefully, they will be my friends when I return.

Oh! I met this guy. He runs a non-profit called World FM, which is a record label that fuels charity, which helps other countries do something. I'll explain it more in detail later. The structure of it was intriguing. Well, the dude who is on the road who runs it knows DAVE GAHAN the singer of DEPECHE MODE, which is my favorite band. And he said DAVE was going to be out at the NYC show. I'm going to meet and take pics with him. I'm so excited.

Our day off is in Bum Fuck Farmington, New Mexcio.

IT'S SO GREAT TO BE BACK!!! For those who are not close to me every year I say I'm not doing warped again. This year, like any year, is no different. I lied--I can't live without this tour (metaphorically or whatever). The friends I have on this tour are the best, and are as close as family. I hope you can one day feel such a bond.

Hangs have been sweet, finding boxes sucks, and we are still missing our button packs box. Have you see them around anywhere?

Pre-day was rad. Erick from the FBR office was around to supervise and give rides to IN-N-OUT. Love that guy.

Pomona was overwhelming. The FBR booth was busier than Jeffery Star's personal make-up slave. The big sellers are our sunglasses and $5 dollar white FBR tees. I was able to catch Gym Class's acoustic set at the MYSPACE TENT. Wow! It was amazing. You can see a video of it in my videos section.

My body is a little flubby, but overall I still look great in booty shorts. If you want to smack my ass it's a dollar just in case you were wondering.

SAN FRAN, Oh, SAN FRAN, how I missed thee like a Midsummer Nights Dream. No, Seriously, last year we didn't come back to the Fisherman's Warf/Pier # whatever, so it was nice to come back and enjoy the majestic sights of city by the bay.

I woke up thinking, "oh man, it's San Fran." Wear jeans and a hoody--I thought wrong. It was hot as balls. It didn't help our bus was parked two miles away from the venue at load-in time. Chad and I walked hard to the venue. We had a few problems setting up, and had little time before the early door time (10 a.m.).

Water has been scarce. I've been finishing off peoples' half-full water bottles that are left on the table. They are tasty and no one is sick. trust me.

Our bus mates, the Bronx, appear to besuper laid back and ridiculous. Quote of the bus so far, "WAKE UP! You're 80!" (Matt, Bronx)

I was able to check out Protest the Hero, who rules your life, and shreds too hard for words. Come hug them at their tent.

Tour Wounds: Cut on bottom of right foot, which is not healing. Key bit of information: If you have dry skin and you have a cut, the wound does not heal. Other than that the usual chaffing on the inside of the legs. When you wear booty shorts that happens until you are ultimately the dirtiest thing on the road--the dirt and oil from your skin makes the best lubricant:)

I have not shit in three days.

Before I left NM, I went to a garage sale around my hood and found these great finds. You may recognize the alien from MARS ATTACKS! and the scorpion cowboy from that old cartoon on ABC kids, which actually had animated cows as cowboys.

Flew Southwest out of New Mexico. It wasn't an awesome experience. I cant say that I like an airline that has general admission seating. Then, you get people that sit everywhere but the middle seat in a row of three seats and then you have a family complaining that they cannot sit next to each other and blah blah blah. It's like going to a big, new movie opening night with more than two people--it's just a hassle. Also, it was hotter than balls on the plane, or at least in my opinion.

After touch down and luggage carouseling, Jenna, Jesse's (MUSIC SAVES LIVES) girlfriend, came and picked me up. It was my first time meeting this Louisiana sweet heart. We are sharing good times together telling stories, playing cards, and being nerds on our laptops. We are just counting down the days till the pre-day, which is this Thursday.

(JESSE and JENNA)

Chad files in tomorrow. I'm so excited.

I hung with Erin (ECO-INITITIVE) and Luke (Ex-AT&T) at Seal and Huntington Beach. It was amazing.

(ERIN and LUKE)

In-N-Out has been STELLAR! To the disgust of some I'm eating TOMOTOES!!!

(ANIMAL FRIES and DOUBLE DOUBLE)

I've beached it twice already and I'm starting to get some good color. I cannot wait to be bronze again. Can you?

Hello Dudes and Dudesses: I've been asked serveral times if i have a buzznet account. Now, I don't have to lie anymore.

I recently moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico after living in the New York City area for about 9 months. I graduated college last September and took a desk job, and immediately I started counting down the days till retirement. I convinced the world, after doing Warped Tour the past 6 years, that I was not going to do it again. I lied big time. You could say I hit the abort button, and now I'm back being a Boy of Summer.

I have so many ridiculous things planned for warped you have no idea. You will see these things as they happen through video and photo. Do you love photo? I think photo sticker booths are the greatest. As in, you're the greatest.

Eat everything.
Don't die.
Love.

-METALLICA
